Originally licensed as a real estate agent in 1993, Martin has been selling homes on Vancouver Island for more than 20 years, with a particular expertise in the Nanaimo area. He initially got into real estate on a suggestion from a friend while at a crossroads in his career - and hasn’t looked back since.
“It’s the best move I ever made,” says Martin. “This is an incredible business with the ability to help people achieve their dreams through the buying and selling of real estate. To play a role in that process is such a privilege, and I feel truly fortunate for the opportunity.”
With a large component of his business being waterfront properties, Martin is quick to point out that waterfront is in no way all that he focuses on, as he relishes the challenge of selling any unique property that requires him to be more creative with his marketing.
“Every property is special in some way, and our job is to create a story for each home that sets it apart from everything else, and in turn helps to make it more desirable to a buyer. We work with our clients to write that story, which is one way we’ve been successful in getting premium value for their homes and properties over the years,” he continues.
A recipient of the RE/MAX Platinum Award, a Chairmans Award and a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, Martin works with homes of all price points, has sold over 55 waterfront homes and averages over 60 sales/year.
“We don’t really know what the future of real estate in our area looks like, but right now the market on Vancouver Island is booming. If you are planning to sell in the next 4 - 6 months, sooner is better as we know its now a seller’s market and that could change at anytime. I don’t think that we will see more than a 3 - 4% change in value either way so it comes down to the timing that best fits your life plan.”
Martin works with a small team of dedicated and committed Realtors and support staff that continually strive to make their clients’ experience as positive as possible. This includes making a full concierge service available to all clients, employing a full-time client-care specialist to ensure nothing falls through the cracks, and providing a thorough checklist of more than 70 duties that will be complete before your home hits the market.
